Our Thoughts

The modern day is built around several key pieces of infrastructure, each solving an important problem.
Electricity, Water, Gas - all things, without which, we couldn't live as we do now.
Backup infrastructure like generators, gas bottles, and water bottles are all sold in the case of the primary infrastructure failing.

In the digital age, we have things like TV, Radio, and the internet. Each of which we have found new ways to be reliant upon
The internet has become the largest and most relied upon piece of infrastructure ever, and there isn't really a good backup plan in the event of loss of connection. Sure there are 5G hotspot access points, but that all ends up at the same source... the internet.

Our Ethos is to use computational hardware in efficient ways to give control, reliability, and ownership back to everyone, instead of adding to the ever growing list of things we rely on. We

What is the internet?

The internet is more of a concept. At the simplest level, it is just lots of computers that are connected together so they can communicate
It does this by breaking up the problem into smaller chunks, and connecting these chunks together.
A forest has lots of trees, and each tree has lots of branches, and each branch has lots of leaves. At this level, the "forest" is more of a concept - an umbrella name that describes the ecosystem. Similarly, the internet has lots of small networks as part of it, and devices connected to those. They all connect together to form a forest of networks and devices.
If you lose connection from the internet, you aren't actually fully disconnected, your device can still talk, the internet just won't respond. You are just a single tree - you still have branches and leaves and can still do meaningful work within your network which nobody can disconnect you from.

Why the reliance?

Chasing big numbers like RAM size, and processor speeds is an expensive hobby. The most up to data hardware is incredibly expensive. One server can actually service many tens or hundreds of people's needs.
This allows a small amount of companies to focus keeping their hardware up to date, and secure, and selling their computational power. This is NOT a bad thing, it allows everyone to access great hardware at affordable prices, and they don't need to worry about the upkeep of the hardware.
The down side is that we get tied to ever growing prices, and we lose some control over what we consider our services and technology. We don't OWN it anymore

How we are going to fix it.

With advances in technology, we don't actually need to chase these big numbers, and we can instead do things better and faster with the less powerful computers. Less oomph = Less cost, and it still gets the job done.
We are bringing servers, small managed networks, and efficient easy to use software to you, so you can continue looking at your photos, running your business, and using your technology even if the internet isn't there.
